In the rapidly evolving world of healthcare, staying ahead means updating service offerings and truly understanding the needs of patients and stakeholders. This is no easy feat. Enter “Design Thinking,” an innovative approach that is helping healthcare providers and medtech companies create patient-centred solutions. But what exactly is Design Thinking, and how is it transforming the healthcare landscape?
We had an insightful conversation with Craig Wills, Managing Director of Hi Mum! Dad and Katya Zubareva, a Partner at L.E.K Consulting, shared their experiences in applying Design Thinking in the healthcare sector. They shared how this human-centred methodology immerses companies in the experiences of end-users to co-create solutions that improve patient journeys and streamline operational workflows.
The process, which involves both divergent and convergent thinking, is built on the Double Diamond model. It includes phases such as Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver, each designed to foster creativity and refinement. Through workshops, interviews, and direct observations, healthcare companies can identify core issues and iterate on solutions that truly address user needs.
Craig Wills and Katya Zubareva will be presenting the full Care Fertility case study, including the results and impact of their work, with fellow partners Klaus Boehncke and Jacqueline Thompson at HBI 2024. The interactive breakfast briefing, “Design thinking – how to make an impact in innovation, transformation and patient experience,” will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 7:45 AM.
