Janne-Olli looks at how the Mehilainen hospital and outpatient network has launched a suite of IT services that really allow HR departments and line managers to get their hands around sickness issues and has helped cut absenteeism by 20%. He also analyses Mehilainen's mobile app which allows consumers to chat to doctors (with face to face follow ups if necessary) for a flat fee. The app received more downloads than Pokemon Go in Finland during first week of its public launch. Mehiläinen is a leading Finnish social and healthcare services firm with circa 11 000 professional and expected revenues of €700m in 2017.
