What does digital health mean for the private sector?

Digital health is going to have a profound impact on every aspect of healthcare delivery. And for-profit hospital groups are generally adopting ehealth, telehealth and monitoring devices faster than their public sector counterparts, according to Arthur Kaindl, head of digital at Siemens Healthineers, who is speaking at Healthcare Business International 2018.

Such products enable better care at home and give the patient a wider range of choices and knowledge. But they can also help providers to retain patients. For instance, Kaindl says that thanks to home monitoring, a small German hospital has been able to retain cardiology patients longer with a far more sophisticated offering.

Interestingly, he also sees the adoption of digital health as a force for further consolidation. Many small hospitals lack the leadership, the skills or resources to implement digital properly. Harvard Business Review Analytic Services, sponsored by Siemens Healthineers, provides new insights into how healthcare providers are addressing these challenges. Get your reports here.
