Recent PE exits with long holding periods

We’ve analysed a selection of health care PE exits from the past few years, looking at cases where the company was held for longer than the typical five-year holding period.

The above graph shows exits and a timeline of the respective holding period for six health care groups that have been sold by PE firms in the last few years: The 2023 sale of multinational dialysis giant Diaverum by Bridgepoint; the 2021 sale of Switzerland-based Ameos by The Carlyle Group; the 2021 sale of UK fertility group Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic by TVM Capital; the 2023 sale of German cosmetics provider Dermatologikum by ECM; the 2022 sale of UK occupational health provider Optima Health by CBPE Capital; and the 2023 sale of Spanish psychiatry company Grupo 5 by Corpfin Capital.

The acquirer or acquirers are shown to the right of the timeline for each exit.
