Top for-profit hospitals in Romania
This week’s infographic looks at the top 5 Romanian for-profit hospital groups by their 2025 revenues.
This data has been sourced from the HBI Intelligence database.
MedLife leads the ranking with €637 million in group sales, of which €175 million comes from hospital services, followed by Regina Maria with €515 million in total revenue and roughly €165 million (HBI Estimate) from its hospital business. Medicover Romania generated €325 million in combined Healthcare and Diagnostic Services revenue with ~€97 million (HBI Estimate) from hospitals, while SANADOR posted €156 million in revenue with ~€101 million (HBI Estimate) from its hospital operations. Arcadia rounds out the top five with €41 million in group sales, of which roughly €18 million is attributable to its hospital entity.
Note: All figures reflect Romanian operations only. MedLife’s hospital revenue is sourced directly from its audited consolidated accounts; figures marked * are HBI Estimates as no segment-level breakdown is published by these groups. Arcadia’s group total is aggregated from four legal entities filed with the Romanian Trade Registry. Medicover Romania combines the company’s Healthcare Services and Diagnostic Services divisions as reported in the Medicover Annual Report 2025. MedLife 2025 figures are actuals from audited accounts; all other 2025 group totals are HBI Estimates.
The Romanian private hospital market is consolidating rapidly as Monza, ARES and Brain Institute recently merged to form one of Romania’s leading private hospital operators.
