Silven Chikengezha

Silven is the IFC Global Sector Lead for Health Services, where he plays a crucial role in building sector strategy, generating, and structuring potential investment opportunities across the health sector for IFC clients globally.

Silven brings a wealth of experience from over 15 years of investing and M&A experience in emerging markets. Since joining IFC in 2014, he has been instrumental in deploying close to a billion in new investments for IFC’s own account and mobilizations, primarily focusing on health services and pharmaceuticals in various countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. These investments have not only resulted in profitable exits and significant top and bottom-line growth but have also had a positive impact on the lives of over 4.0 million people annually, providing them with access to healthcare and affordable quality medicines.

Prior to his role at IFC, Silven served as an Investment Manager at BancABC, a part of the Altas Mara Group. In this position, he provided advisory services to large corporates, healthcare, banks, mining houses, and private equity firms, specializing in mergers and acquisitions in Southern Africa and across sub-Saharan Africa. Before that, he worked at the Nedbank Group as part of the Corporate Finance and Investment Advisory team based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
