Max Hotopf is the Editor and CEO of Healthcare Business International. He has previously worked for the Daily Mail and has written for the Financial Times, The Telegraph and The Guardian. A Durham University graduate, he set up the business in 2008. He is particularly interested in healthcare reform, brand and the impact of the web on patient choice and behaviour.

Lee Murray - Director of Commercial Strategy

Graduating with an MSc in International Business Management from the University of Kent in England, Lee has international experience having worked in Canada, Saudi Arabia and the UK. He has previously worked in research and project management in renewable energy and human capital development before first joining first as a journalist and then becoming Director of Commercial Strategy.

David Farbrother - Editor

David is an award-nominated journalist who has spent years editing local newspapers in Surrey and Sussex, and writing freelance for the national press. Having trained on the news desk of the Surrey Mirror newspaper, he went on to roles as chief reporter and content editor at various local news titles across the South-East before becoming editor of Healthcare Business International.

Claude Risner - Journalist

Claude is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Queen Mary, University of London. He has previously worked for Hermes Investment Management, interned at the World Health Organisation and lived in Bangladesh, India and Zimbabwe. He focuses on the BRICS, diagnostic labs, healthcare property and the role of the private sector in universal health coverage.

Rubén de Diego - Research and Database Manager

Technical Architecture graduate from the University of Alicante, Spain. Previous to joining HBI International has worked as researcher and project manager in the Market Research sector and Recruitment, where he worked as an Account Manager specializing in IT/Finance for LATAM and US regions. His role in HBI include: resourcing, management of market research campaigns and management of the products 'TOP 1,300 Private Operators in Europe' and 'TOP 700 Private Operators in Emerging Markets'.

Thandi Mpiyakhe – Personal Assistant

Born in Germany and grew up in South Africa, Thandi is an experienced Administrator with over 14 years of work experience in both South Africa and the UK. She is a fluent German speaker and in her spare time is a keen samba dancer.

Zhasmina Simeonova - Marketing Executive

Zhasmina graduated with an MSc in Psychology of Advertising from Lancaster University. Prior to joining Healthcare Business International, Zhasmina worked for multiple startups, supporting their digital marketing and communications.

Ruby Visaria - Business Development Manager

Ruby is an experienced Business Development Manager and passionate about healthcare. She qualified as a Yoga Teacher after travelling around Asia and then filmed a reality show for the Travel Channel in New Zealand. She is a big fan of martial arts, extreme sports, and you may even have seen her on TV, in soaps like 'Casualty' or 'Eastenders' as she spent some years as a professional actress.

Mark Hughes - New Business Development Executive

Graduated in Tourism Management in Seville, Spain. Previously worked in financial rating agencies in Madrid on the marketing and account management. After a few years there he took a trading job with a more international exposure, selling to South East Asia, Europe, South America and parts of Africa. Languages: Spanish and Portuguese

Victor Reis - New Business Development Executive
