Private insurers hit Spire and its competitors

Shares in UK hospital chain Spire, where Mediclinic has a 30% stake, dived over 10% on warnings of a drop in private medical insurance business in the four months to October 2015. Spire also faces problems on the NHS side of its business with likely tariff cuts and a collapse in local contracts in the four months to October. Self-pay is also off.
