A USEFUL awards ceremony for health care services!

A few years ago Thomas Berglund, CEO, of Capio, the big Pan-European hospitla group, told me that he had staff regularly scour the web for examples of innovation and best practice in health care services. Such information was, he said, surprisingly hard to come by. That is one of the reasons why we are launching a new awards programme in association with KPMG’s global healthcare consultancy for business model innovation in health care services.

That is one of the reasons why we are launching a new awards programme in association with KPMG’s global healthcare consultancy for business model innovation in health care services.

Another reason is that the pace of innovation in the services sector is rapidly accelerating. The industry is becoming global and innovative practices can, and are, being transported from one country or sub-sector to another.

The third reason is that, whilst there are many innovation awards, most are for medtech and pharma products. Those for services tend to be national and dominated by the public sector. Often, they are awarded to short-lived pilots.

HBI and KPMG want to give awards for viable, scaleable models. They are open to the private sector and to innovative NGOs – but not the public sector. They are international in scope and cross all sub-sectors – nursing home groups, acute hospital chains or specialist outpatient players – can all apply.

The aim then is to build a library of useful casestudies – winners and runners up – from across the world. And that is where YOU come in. HBI and KPMG track the sector assidiously, but many of you, as operators, advisers or investors, will know of really interesting case studies which we will not have seen or considered.

We’ve kept the awards to just seven. And we’ve defined them to cover the areas where we see the most innovation. They are for:

Best innovative low cost models

Best use of digital health

Best use of HR

Best medical service outsourcer

Best building of a brand

Best quality data model

Best patient platform

To find out how to nominate yourself or someone else just go this page and scroll down. We’ve kept the process as simple as possible.

The awards will be given out at a SHORT ceremony at the Healthcare Business International 2017 conference in London. And the next day we will be getting winners and runners up to lift the lid on their models.
