What we are doing, where we are going

People said I was mad when I set up Healthcare Europa in that inauspicious year, 2008. “Healthcare services are national industries. No one wants to know what is happening in other countries, because it isn’t relevant.” Six years on, and our European business is thriving. So much so, that we have now launched a new title, Healthcare Nova, to cover the Developing World.

Why? First, growth opportunities in countries like India and China are staggering. The European diagnostic lab sector does well to grow at 3-5% a year. Growth rates for the majors in the same sector in India are 25% and 40% in China. Secondly, every sector is now international – IVF, dentistry, hospitals, labs, imaging, the lot!  To have a cut off at the borders of Europe seems arbitrary.

Finally, the two sectors inform each other.  There are solutions in telehealth, in surgery, in brand development in India and Africa that Europeans would do well to adapt.

Expanding also gives us the scale, as an organisation, to deepen our coverage. You will now find researchers at Healthcare Business International who specialise, worldwide, in sectors such as elderly care, homecare and insurance.

I hope you will support us in this endeavour. If you think this is a sector which deserves better, more professional, coverage, then subscribe to Healthcare Europa and Healthcare Nova, and join us at our annual conference, which, this year, includes speakers from India and the Middle East, as well as Europeans.
