Healthcare services loses its fear of international

It is striking how many international deals are being done right now in healthcare services.

In the last month alone we have French care group Orpea moving into German-speaking Switzerland with Senavita, Norlandia, the Norwegian care group buying a kindergarten chain in the Netherlands and Oaktree planning a Pan-European dentistry chain. And then we have Centene planning to buy Bankia’s stake in Ribera.

Apart from Orpea, which has been international for more than five years, it is hard to envisage any of these deals being struck even two years ago. International is fast becoming the new normal.
