It’s all systems go for HBI 2021 in London next week!

Here at HBI HQ we’ve been busy chatting to the star-sprinkled selection of high-flying panellists set to take the stage next week at HBI 2021: our annual healthcare services conference set in London. Last year’s conference was largely virtual as the world reeled from COVID. But this year, there is an overwhelming and undeniable feeling of optimism as everyone prepares to meet in person for the first time in far too long.

Appropriately, this year’s conference is entitled New Vistas, New Opportunities, and our pre-conference chats suggest that with the world re-open for business we couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate theme. There are too many highlights to mention – you can see the full agenda for the three day event which starts on Monday here – but these are some which the editorial team are particularly looking forward to.

On Monday, Hedley Goldberg from Rothschild opens with his expert view of the post-Covid M&A landscape. Always insightful and played to a packed house, Hedley’s analysis may put you in the mood to see if there are deals for you to strike in the networking sessions between panels. Will pent-up investor demand force prices even higher in what most investors view as one of the safest sectors? What has happened to valuations and deal flow through the pandemic? Where are investors particularly focused today? Come along, and find out. That investment theme continues throughout Monday, with regional sessions and an exploration of some of the largest sectors, with hospitals, nursing homes and ophthalmology taking centre stage.

Tuesday sees a shift of focus onto the digital transformation washing over Europe – so who better to hear from on building an international platform in our keynote than Fresenius Helios CEO Francesco De Meo?

A digital and diagnostics day follows but there is something for everyone with additional panels on the likes of dentistry, workforce and fertility. And a day of chat and networking climaxes with an exclusive not-to-be-missed opportunity in the evening to hear from Jeremy Hunt, former UK Secretary of State for Health. He’s happy to take your questions. What do you want to ask the longest-serving health minister in Europe over the last decade?

Our final day addresses the question on everyone’s lips and talks about the impact and above all recovery from the last year-and-a-half. Will those redefined relationships with governments persist beyond the pandemic? We also have a slew of dedicated regional sessions covering all the areas where you live and work – and somewhere you may want to invest in the future.

There are also in-depth sector discussions including rehabilitation and imaging. Capping what we’re sure will be an invigorating three days is a wrap-up session late in the afternoon, where HBI founder Max Hotopf and Martin Henrichs, Managing Director Healthcare EMEA at UBS, sum up the event.

We look forward to seeing you all in person at our HBI event for the first time in two years, five months and two days!
