NHS outsourcing compared in UK’s top 5 private hospitals
In this week’s infographic, we compare the private and NHS hospital admissions among the top 5 private hospitals in the United Kingdom.
The data is drawn from the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) database.
In 2023, HCA Healthcare UK had 100% in-patient private admissions, followed by Nuffield Health (84%), Spire Healthcare (72.5%), Circle Health Group (64%), and Ramsay Health Care UK (30%).
PHIN data reveals NHS admissions accounted for 70% of Ramsay UK’s, 36% of Circle Health’s, 27.4 % of Spire’s, and 16 % of Nuffield Health’s admissions — except HCA Healthcare, which held no NHS contracts in 2023 (these numbers do not account for outpatient numbers).
