Scalable and successful new approaches to healthcare

We’ve been bowled over by the quality and volume of entries we had this year for our Healthcare Business Model Innovation Awards, being held in association with the global healthcare practice of KPMG.

The seven awards are for operators who can demonstrate scalable and successful new approaches that cut costs and/or improve quality of treatment. Innovation can involve the use of ehealth and telehealth, but it can also come from new ways of quickly training people, from changing corporate cultures or from measuring and improving quality outcomes. Savings of 20% to 70% in treatment costs are being claimed by many of the shortlisted companies.

The awards unveil innovations in healthcare services that are actually being rolled out today and that are making a real impact in the private and not-for-profit sector. After much careful consideration, we’ve managed to whittle our applicants down to a shortlist of 35 operators for seven awards from 16 countries, covering everything from elderly care to acute and from dialysis to dentistry.

The awards will be presented during a gala dinner at the Healthcare Business International 2017 annual conference on April 4 – the largest CEO-level conference dedicated to private healthcare services globally.

Wherever you’re from in Europe or the Emerging Markets there’s bound to be something useful you can learn from our shortlisted companies. Dr Mark Britnell, head of healthcare, UK and Europe, at KPMG, says: “What is striking is the breadth and width of innovation that the awards have uncovered and how much is happening in fiercely competitive countries like India and the GCC, rather than from Europe.”

If you haven’t already booked for the conference, there’s still time to do so!
