NHS England outsourced scans increase by 9% in 2024

While the NHS conducts the majority of scans, outsourcing to private providers has steadily increased over the years, as shown in the first chart.

Among private providers, Alliance Medical holds the largest share of outsourced scans, followed by Ramsay Health UK, InHealth, Spire, and Healthshare, rounding out the top five.
