Previewing the 2025 Top 100 rankings
I’m thrilled to give advance notice that HBI’s fifth annual Top 100 ranking will be published next week. Each year our Top 100 ranking has grown in popularity and is now by some distance the most widely read content we publish.
Our previous rankings covered top service providers of all types ranked by their annual sales. This year to recognise the popularity and utility of rankings, we have chosen to expand them further. Ultimately, we are going to rank the top 250 service providers. We’re going to do this through multiple instalments, starting with the Top 100 For-Profit Hospital Groups across EMEA, ranked by their latest annual sales.
Hospitals sit at the centre of the whole healthcare system. They are hubs for inpatient and outpatient care, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative and rehabilitation services. Plus, prescriptions are dispensed, while new drugs, therapies, and technologies are also tested in them. They also represent critical infrastructure investments no matter who is funding them.
Covering the strategic development of commercial hospital groups is an essential part of HBI’s DNA. Even as we evolve to cover healthcare investing more broadly this will remain a core activity for us.
