Top 5 elderly care (residential) providers in Europe by 2024 revenue
This week’s infographic covers the top five elderly care (residential) providers in Europe, ranked by their 2024 revenue.
The data has been sourced from the HBI Intelligence database.
Europe’s top four elderly care groups are all French players. Pan-European listed French group emeis leads the rankings with €5,636 million in revenue for 2024, followed closely by Clariane, another listed pan-European French group, with €5,282 million. DomusVi, another French provider, registers €2,460 million, while Colisée, likewise headquartered in France, reports €1,700 million. Sweden’s Attendo completes the top five, with €1,612 million.
The growth in revenue for emeis, Clariane, DomusVi, Attendo, and Colisée between 2012 to 2024 reveals varied growth trajectories among Europe’s top elderly care providers. emeis’ CAGR between 2012 and 2024 was 12.11%, Clariane’s was 13.90%, DomusVi’s was 12.48%, Colisée’s was notably higher at 22.63%, and Attendo’s was 5.68%. Colisée’s high growth is driven by backing from private equity firms EQT Infrastructure and CDPQ, which acquired majority stakes starting in 2020 after IK Investment Partners sold its share, enabling aggressive expansion and operational improvements across France, Belgium, Spain, and Italy.
Note: While emeis, Clariane, DomusVi, and Colisée are all headquartered in France, and Attendo in Sweden, these elderly care providers operate extensively beyond their European home bases.
