Top 5 European for-profit hospital operators

This week’s infographic looks at the top 5 European for-profit hospital operators by their 2025 revenues.

This data has been sourced from the HBI Intelligence database.

Fresenius Helios (Germany) leads the ranking, with total 2025 revenues of €8.1 billion, all of which are hospital‑based. Asklepios (Germany) follows with €6.4 billion in total revenue and around €5.6 billion from for‑profit hospitals. Ramsay Santé (France) generates €5.4 billion overall, of which we estimate approximately €4.7 billion from hospital operations in France and Italy. Quirónsalud (Spain) posts €5.2 billion in Spain, with around €3 billion attributable to its for‑profit hospital business. Sana Kliniken (Germany) records total revenues of €4.1 billion, with an estimated €3.3 billion coming from its German for‑profit hospital network.

To ensure like‑for‑like comparison, we show operator‑level European hospital revenues rather than parent‑company figures, excluding non‑European and non‑hospital activities where relevant.
