Top 5 UK private occupational health providers by total revenue 2024
This week’s infographic covers the top 5 UK private occupational health (OH) providers by total revenue 2024.
The data has been sourced from the HBI Intelligence database.
UK sickness absence rate fell to 2.0% in 2024 (149 million working days lost), down from the 2.6% peak in 2022 and 2.3% in 2023 still above pre-pandemic levels and highlighting the need for scaled private occupational health solutions.
Optima Health leads with €123 million in total revenue, the post-Marlowe demerger pure-play now standing alone as the dominant OH platform with broad corporate and public sector exposure. Health Partners follows at €91 million, the Warburg Pincus-backed pure OH specialist validated by recent PE investment as a high-growth leader. Medigold Health ranks third at €84 million, the BGF-supported group boosted by its Health Management acquisition and recent board evolution. PAM Healthcare secures fourth place at €74 million, the LDC-backed provider blending OH with physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and absence management for scaled national reach. Health Assured rounds out the top 5 at €46 million, Peninsula Group-owned with strong OH and EAP services appealing to mid-market employers.
Note: These are total group revenues of pure-play occupational health players, and therefore exclude hospital groups or insurers active in the market, such as Bupa OH and HCA. PAM Group revenue reflects the consolidated accounts of PAM Healthcare Limited (the ultimate group parent). Revenues originally reported in GBP have been converted to EUR using an illustrative June 2024 exchange rate of 1 GBP = 1.18 EUR, based on the GBP/EUR range observed between 1-13 June 2024.
