HBI: Most wanted

As the year draws to a close, we thought we would take a look at what our readers were searching for most on our website this year and find out which companies were of greatest interest – or to put it another way, HBI’s most wanted.

Our word cloud is a visual representation of our most common searches, where greater prominence is given to the most searched-for companies.

Two labs top our list. Synlab and Unilabs regularly hit the headlines over the last 12 months, the former with its April IPO – the timing of which in retrospect appeared unfortunate, and the latter most recently when it landed a rather unusual buyer as reported here.

M&A focussed Dutch, Nordic and German ambulatory clinic operator Bergman Clinics, European imaging provider Affidea, and Artemis, Germany’s second largest ophtha chain by revenue, were also all heavily searched for.

Many of our other most requested groups, including Veonet, Elsan, Vivalto and mydentist, were also either M&A targets or heavily involved in acquisitions – or both.

Most sectors are represented here with labs, hospitals, ophtha, dentistry, and elderly care all getting a respectable look in. And for all the talk of telehealth, only Babylon made the cut.
