The best hospital website?
If you want to go beyond using the same image as everyone else then it is worth having a close look at the website of Espiritu Santo Saude in Portugal.
The use of full page images on the site manage to take you round its hospitals to a far greater extent than any other we know. This, of course, is not always a good thing. How many people really want to visit a hospital? But ESS have managed to select images which work. Fellow Portuguese rival Jose de Mello Saude manages to incorporate slightly less impactful images with a clearer lay out.
Other operators with great websites include Swiss Clinique de Genolier which is clearly aiming at the wealthy. I want to go there to rest and recuperate. Actually, I think I would be quite happy to live in one of their faciities! I think the music works well here, although my colleague describes it as “cheap porn music with a sleazy seventies vibe”. At 23 he is hardly Genolier’s target market but his reaction does illustrate how unpredictable people’s reactions can be to music.
Nordic sites tend to be less formal and to emphasise the carers, rather than the real estate. Few operators can match the sense of reality conveyed on this page by Carema. Here is a picture of real carers.
