Outlook on healthcare quality less positive in 2022

This week we looked at perceived healthcare quality across selected markets in 2022, according to research conducted by market research company IPSOS. Overall, there is less positivity about healthcare quality compared to 2021.

In the report Global Health Service Monitor 2022, IPSOS asked how respondents would rate the quality of healthcare they have access to.

The countries which most frequently rated their healthcare quality as good or very good were the Netherlands (68%), the United States (66%) and China (64%).

The countries which most frequently rated their healthcare quality as bad or very bad were Poland (43%), Italy (29%) and Turkey (26%).

The Netherlands remain the most positive about healthcare quality, but the number of respondents giving a positive answer fell from 77% in 2021 to 68% in 2022. Turkey has the biggest drop in positivity from 54% in 2021 to 37% in 2022.

The only countries which were more positive about healthcare quality year-on-year were China (+7%), Japan (+5%), and Poland (+2%) although admittedly Poland had quite a low bar and the number of those describing the quality as bad or very bad increased from 41% in 2021 to 43% in 2022.

Data on Russia was not included in this year’s survey.
