Smith+Nephew acquires US sports medicine firm for $450 million

UK-based medical technology company Smith+Nephew has agreed to acquire US sports medicine business Integrity Orthopaedics in a deal valued at up to $450 million. The transaction includes an upfront cash payment of $225 million, with an additional $225 million contingent on performance over the next five years.

Corilus acquires Sofia Développement to create a pan-European healthcare software platform

Belgian healthcare software provider Corilus has acquired French outpatient software specialist Sofia Développement from European mid-market private equity firm IK Partners and other investors. The merger creates a combined platform serving over 70,000 healthcare professionals across Belgium and France, with plans to expand further across Europe.

EQT Life Sciences backs Kinaset and exits Vivasure

EQT Life Sciences, the life sciences investment arm of Swedish private equity group EQT, has invested in Boston-based developer of respiratory drugs Kinaset Therapeutics as part of a $103 million Series B funding round. The funding will support the development of frevecitinib, a new inhaled treatment for asthma patients whose condition is not well controlled by existing therapies.

Eugin, the second largest provider of fertility services in Spain, has bought out one of its smaller competitors, Instituto Bernabeu. 

TopzorgGroep consolidates Dutch physio sector as PE-owner Capital A prepares to sell

TopzorgGroep has become the largest chain of physiotherapy practices in the Netherlands after a series of acquisitions. It has just bought out one of its biggest competitors, FysioHolland, a chain of 100 physiotherapy clinics which had revenue of €22 million and EBITDA of €1.2 million in 2024. Capital A, TopzorgGroep private equity owner since 2019, is likely to be looking to sell the group soon.

Gilde Healthcare buys Physio CKI

Cologne-based private equity firm Gilde Healthcare has acquired a majority stake in Physio CKI, a German network of physiotherapy practices, from alternative fund manager Kapital 1852.

Quadria Capital takes Apex Healthcare private

A consortium led by Singapore-based healthcare-focused private equity firm Quadria Capital has taken control of Malaysian pharmaceutical group Apex Healthcare, after buying 95.43% of its shares in a voluntary takeover offer.
