A public hearing is scheduled for September, and the investigation could lead to additional tariffs.

TPG creates European outpatient real estate platform from €400m worth of MOBs bought from Northwest

Private equity investor TPG has launched a specialist outpatient real estate investment platform to hold the €400 million worth of German and Dutch medical outpatient buildings (MOBs) it bought from Canada-based healthcare REIT Northwest in January, and acquire similar additional properties. The platform, called Arcura Medical Properties, will remain fully owned by TPG’s real estate investment branch (TPG Real Estate), but will operate “independently”, managed by Simon Betty as CEO, who formerly headed Northwest’s European branch, along with his team.

Smile Invest acquires BAP Medical

Private equity firm Smile Invest has acquired a majority stake in medical skincare provider BAP Medical, alongside management and founder Rob Hollweg. BAP Medical develops, produces and distributes medical devices for patients suffering from scars, burns, chronic skin conditions, allergies, hard-to-heal wounds and ENT conditions. Its portfolio includes Alhydran, widely used in burn centres, as well as BAPSCARCARE and Scarban for professional scar treatment.

Northern Horizon continues to attract institutional capital to Nordic care real estate

Nordic healthcare real estate investor Northern Horizon (NH) has made €130 million worth of acquisitions across the three markets it invests in: Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Most of these are forward purchases of new builds being acquired from developers. Interview with HTEC’s Alfred Olivares on AI adoption in healthcare

US-based digital product development and consulting firm HTEC recently queried 253 C-level healthcare and life sciences executives across the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE on how they are progressing with AI adoption.
