Vivaneo enters Austria

Pan-European fertility group VivaNeo has bought the two Dr Loimer fertility centres in Austria. VivaNeo, majority owned by Waterland, has expanded its European footprint to eight centres in four countries. With Austria legalising egg cell donation at the start of 2015, Christian Mayer, VivaNeo’s general manager says that Austria will get an increased slice of the fertility tourism cake.

MPT and AXA Italian joint venture underway

The US REIT Medical Properties Trust’s (MPT’s) Italian JV with the French asset manager AXA REIM is making good progress, says Hideki Kurata, head of alternative and special situations at AXA real estate. The deal is for several acute care hospitals and a freestanding clinic. Meanwhile, Spanish sources say that one of the largest hospital chains is considering a sale and leaseback deal.

Vithas buys stake in Juaneda

Vithas, the fourth largest Spanish hospital group has bought a 10-15% stake in Juaneda, the main hospital operator in the Baleriac Islands for €12.5m.
