Saudi German makes plans in Nigeria

MENA hospital group Saudi German has partnered with a major Nigerian politician's healthcare company to build a referral centre, diagnostic centre and 100-bed hospital in the capital Abuja. This will provide an excellent channel for referring out-of-pocket payers to Dubai - but Saudi German is keen to stress it should also generally help stem the tide of medical tourists flooding out of the country. 

Aster DM full-year results show slow pivot to India

India and GCC hospital group Aster DM has revealed revenue and EBITDA growth of 13% and 79%, respectively, in its first annual report since IPOing in Mumbai in February this year. The increase in the proportion of revenues made in India shows the group's pivot towards that market, although it is sticking to the safe haven of larger cities.

Medgate AI project to cut costs by 30-40%

Digital healthcare pioneer Medgate is evaluating opportunities in Germany and other European countries. A chatbot based on the 12 million telehealth sessions it has held over the past 19 years is in development and will be launched at the end of 2018 and should reduce costs by 30-40%, Medgate CEO and founder Andy Fischer tells Healthcare Nova.
