Apple reportedly working on AI doctor service in healthcare push

Apple is reportedly developing a new AI doctor service in its biggest healthcare push to date. The company is working on ‘Project Mulberry’, which involves an entirely revamped Health app plus a health coach, according to Bloomberg. The service would be powered by a new AI agent intended to replicate, where possible, a real doctor.

UK REITs Assura and Care REIT both being bought out by US investors

Two of the UK’s largest listed specialist healthcare real estate investors are being bought out and taken private by US investors. Assura looks as though it is about to accept a fifth offer from US private equity firm KKR. The US-based med tech giant GE HealthCare is investing $138 million to expand its contrast media manufacturing site in Cork. Iodinated contrast media (ICM) are injectable diagnostic agents which enhance the visibility of organs, blood vessels, and tissues during X-rays and CT scans, playing a key role in diagnosing conditions like cancer and heart disease.

AXA launches new all-in-one holistic app

AXA Global Healthcare, offering cross-border health insurance to businesses and private individuals, has announced the launch of its all-in-one holistic app. Hallmarked “Healthcare without borders”, it integrates healthcare, insurance, and personalised wellbeing features in one place. While AXA says wellbeing has always been one of its priorities, this marks its first product-led step into the sector and preventative health space (and first app entirely).
