Portugal’s competition authority is concerned private healthcare consolidation may have caused price increases

Acibadem buys 80% stake in Bayindir Hospitals

The largest private hospital group in Turkey, Acibadem, has acquired an 80% stake in Bayindir Hospitals, another hospital group in Turkey, from lender İş Bankası, for $55 million, valuing the business at ~$80 million, according to Chairman Mehmet Ali Aydınlar. İş Bankası will own the remaining 20% share. The deal includes three hospitals and six dental clinics under the Bayındır Health Group, including two in Ankara and one in Istanbul, with 1,252 employees, including 205 physicians.
