Slotervaart Hospital, one of three privatised hospitals in the Netherlands, is in deep trouble. Minutes of a board meeting leaked to Dutch newspaper Parool reveal that bank ING has halved Slotervaart’s credit facility, from €52m to €28m, while the hospital is forecasting a net loss of €5m in 2013 after a €2.1m loss in 2012. Meanwhile, co-founder and entrepreneur Aysel Erbudak, still suspended from the board, has been accused of embezzling funds from the hospital.

B Braun, the German medtech company with a 5% stake in Rhoen Klinikum, has threatened the hospital operator with a lawsuit. Apax-backed Swiss diagnostics operator Unilabs failed to launch a €685m bond issue on June 13. The company says that it plans to return to the markets, blaming the initial failure on a general market downturn.
Abu Dhabi-based hospital and clinic operator Al Noor has listed on the London Stock Exchange. The group runs three hospitals, two satellite clinics offering a mix of ambulatory and overnight beds and a family care clinic. Al Noor earned EBITDA of around US$70m on sales of $324.4m, for a net profit of $60.5m in 2012. This is up 11% from 2011 sales of $292.9m, with net profit up 19% from $50.8m. The group has a 35% share of Abu Dhabi’s private outpatient market and 39% share of its inpatient market. So how did the float go?
