Rhoen plans campus hospitals

Rhoen Klinikum is to get an extra €50m a year for 2017 and annually hereafter to at least 2021 from the state of Hesse for its research and teaching work at Giessen and Marburg, the only privatised University hospital in Germany. CEO Stefan Hlzzinger's new strategy is to persuade outpatient specialists to move their offices to Rhoen outpatient units to create more referrals in its specialist hospitals. But 2017 saw an adjusted GAAP EBITDA margin of only 6.2%, likely to be less than half the level achieved by bigger rivals such as Helios and Sana.

IVF/lab group sells stake to Oaktree; buys in Italy, Spain and Switzerland
